Effects of Home Background on Academic Performance of Secondary School Students

The present study was conducted to determine the effects of home background on academic performance of secondary school students in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It employed a questionnaire with twenty items and a four-point rating scale. It surveyed a total of two hundred and forty (240) students drawn from eight sampled secondary schools. Data were analyzed using an independent t-test.
